The Rotary Club of Shasta Valley, District 5110 was chartered with 21 members in 2004.  The club’s vision is to actively serve communities locally and globally by:

  • Engaging in community service,
  • Supporting the tenets of Rotary International, and
  • Having fun in the spirit of fellowship.

Projects and Accomplishments to date include:

  • Creation of “Shasta Valley Serves”, the club’s 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising money for the Rotary Club of Shasta Valley
  • $10,000 committed for COS permanent scholarship endowment (on-going)
  • $500 COS Annual Scholarship & Project Amigo, Mexico Student Sponsorship
  • $10,000 committed to YMCA for Teen Center Juice Bar (on-going)
  • Construction of two can collection houses for Habitat for Humanity
  • $500 grant to Sober Grad Night, Yreka High School, 3 grants to Montague Fire Dept
  • Logistical support for fundraisers for Yreka Family RC, Stable Hands, and YST
  • District Simplified Grant - $1500 for after school and Saturday programs at the Yreka Family YMCA and $1000 for the Juice Bar YMCA
  • Guatemala World Community Service water project - $40,000 drilled well and pump
  • 2005 Centennial Project - Fairchild Medical Center for CD players & 100 books on CD
  • Annual sponsorship for two RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy) high school students to summer leadership camp
  • Annual Boy Scouts Merit Badge College - vocational training
  • Annual New Years' Eve "Black Tie Optional" dinner/party starting in 2003
  • Annual Montague Balloon Fair starting in 2005
  • Annual Most Improved Student and Student of the Quarter
  • Annual Dictionaries to 3rd Graders & Annual Adopt a Greenway
  • 100% Paul Harris Club District and RI Recognition (all members PH Fellows) 2006
  • Quarterly Local Community Financial Assistance Grants ($250/Quarter) 2006-2007: Humane Society, Family Resource Center After-School Program, Wool socks for California Conservation Corps Members, Hospice, CSC - Child Abuse Prevention
  • Montague Community Hall Electrics Sign & Montague City Pool Improvement Project
  • WCS - Salcedo Computer Library, Dominican Republic
  • WCS - Guatemala Water Filters 2007, 2008
  • WCS - Mexico Mosquito Abatement
  • WCS - India School Well Project
  • WCS - El Salvador Stoves Project 2007
  • WCS - Romania Endoscopic Spinal Equipment 2007
  • Nyumbani Housing Materials Project - Africa
  • Siskiyou County Bus Stop Project 2007 - 2008
