Shasta Valley spreads out before the north face of
14,000 foot-high Mt Shasta and stretches out to the
banks of the wild and scenic Klamath River and the Siskiyou
Mountain range. The valley is surrounded by a number
of mountains and wilderness areas that comprise the
lower Cascade Range and the Klamath basin watershed.
The valley is part of a region which is recognized as
one of the most biologically diverse in the world, with
many waterways supporting salmon and steelhead species.
September is one of the most beautiful times to visit
this pristine area, with cool nights and warm sunny
days. This makes for great ballooning, as well as soaring,
and for watching all this. There is lots to do, both
indoors and out.
