From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the world's most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is The Four-Way Test.
Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated into more than a hundred languages and published in thousands of ways.

Greetings from the officers and members of the Rotary Club of Scott Valley
(Fort Jones, CA, State of Jefferson, USA).
 Chartered on February 9th 1988, we are a small club, less than 30 Rotarians, working with youth, helping our community and playing an active part in International and World Community Service. Please take some time to visit our web site, learn more about us and perhaps join us sometime for fellowship and service to our community.

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;

FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

If you live or work in Scott Valley and are interested in learning more about Rotary and/or becoming a member of our club, please contact us. We would be pleased to talk to you about Rotary and how you, too, may become a member of this International Service Organization .
Once again, welcome and we hope you'll join us sometime for breakfast.

We are dedicated to fulfilling the Object of Rotary

About Rotary

The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. We also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.

The organization’s efforts also include extraordinary work in the eradication of Polio. Along with global partners, Rotarians have given of their time and financial resources to rid the world of this dreaded disease. Currently, four countries remain endemic and the final phase will be the most costly and challenging to complete. To date, Rotarians have contributed over US600-million dollars to this effort and hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours.

Additionally, more than a billion dollars have been donated to Rotary International programs that provide Matching Grants, Disaster Relief, Humanitarian International projects, Youth and Adult Exchange Programs and Rotary Peace Fellowships.

Rotary holds the highest consultative status offered to a nongovernmental organization (NGO) by the United Nations Economic and Social Council. This is an extraordinary example of Rotary's status as a world leader in the pursuit of humanitarian service to mankind.
