The Rotary Club of Roseburg sponsors the Douglas County Jr. Livestock
Auctions. In cooperation with the 4-H and FFA chapters in Douglas County,
the Club sponsors the Market lamb auction following the Douglas County
Lamb Show in June and also sponsors the Market Beef and Swine auctions
during the Douglas County Fair in August. In addition to providing volunteers
to help stage and operate the auctions, many club members and their companies
are also represented in the ranks of buyers. The Jr. Livestock Auctions
help youth develop trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness,
caring, and citizenship skills as well as earn money which most put toward
their college education.

1965, the total raised through the Junior Livestock Auction program is almost $11,000,000
