Mt. Bachelor Rotary Community Service Award- 2003
On Friday, September 26th 2003, Roberta Berry was presented with the first annual Mt. Bachelor Rotary Community Service Award by Al Dertinger.
Ms. Berry and her husband Doug, who accompanied her to Friday’s meeting, moved to Bend in 1981 and she’s been active in the community since. Her participation includes, but is not limited to, Bear Creek Elementary PTA and editor of school newsletter; C.O. Auxiliary and president; St. Charles second grade tour guide, ten years; Here’s Looking At You 2000, youth drug and alcohol prevention program for Bend-LaPine School District, training for teachers; Deschutes Co. Drug and Alcohol Planning Commission, six years; volunteer for Sarah Fisher Fashion Breast Education Foundation, four years; area coordinator for Alateen, District 5; involved in Christian education for 22 years; governing board of Trinity Episcopal Church, six years.
When introducing Roberta, Al Dertinger said she is most deserving, and one of the great Bend citizens.
