PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Greetings and welcome to Rotary Club of Medford’s
website. We are the original Rotary Club in Southern Oregon, founded in
1923. Medford Rotary Club members are a wonderful mix of young
professionals, middle management, seasoned executives and
entrepreneurs. We’re proud of our traditions and embrace new and
exciting ideas that further Rotary’s mission of providing service for
others, promoting high ethical standards and advancing world peace,
understanding and goodwill.
Rewarding community service activities, business
networking and fellowship lay the foundation that helps Medford Rotary
Club members develop their talents and passion for “changing the world”
by giving “Service Above Self.” We in Rotary have potential that is
unmatched by any other humanitarian organization in the world. We can
bring health to the sick, education to the illiterate, water to the
thirsty and sustainable livelihood to the poor and the hungry. Medford
Rotary Club members help those in our own community and those in the
farthest corners of the earth.
Yearly activities such as Rotary Relays, KidSpree,
Youth Scholarships, Junior Achievement, the Dictionary Project and
Rotary First Harvest provide ways for Club members to make a difference
in our community. By designing and supporting world service projects
that brought medical equipment to the Oncology Unit of the Regional
Hospital of Kamchatka, Russia, established a school library in Kwazulu
Natal, South Africa, brought cooking stoves to villages in San
Salvador/Guatemala, we improved the lives of people living in improvised
areas. Our club instituted the “Goodbye Polio” rose project where
proceeds from the sale of “cause” rosebushes support Rotary
International’s goal of totally eradicating Polio. And we all had
Fun!!!!
Visit our club. We meet every Tuesday from noon to
1:00 p.m. at the Rogue Valley Country Club. Bring your ideas, talents
and enthusiasm as you join us in our efforts to make a difference in our
community and the world. Reap the rewards of providing service to our
community and others while enjoying fellowship and business networking
with other professionals.
